John was born in 1750 in Shenandoah Co.,VA. John's father was Thomas Job and his mother was Mary, Wife Of Thomas Job Sr. ?. His paternal grandfather is John Job. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, Thomas, Elizabeth, Sarah and Mary. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 64 in February 1814 in Guilford County,North Carolina.General Notes

1770's - there was a grant from the state of N.C. to John Job.
1777 -April - John was inducted in the Revolutionary Army, butbeing aQuaker he refused to fight and was released the same month. The Battle ofAlamance was foughtnear his farm. All men subject to military duty wereordered to Hillsboro before the court and were administeredan oath tosupport the crown. John refused.
1778- John was listed in the census of Greensboro, Guilford County, N.C.
1790 -John was listed in the census of Guilford County, N.C.with 5males under 16, 4males over 16, and 4 females - 13 altogether.
1800 - John was listed inthe census of Guilford County, N.C. with 1 male(10-16), 3 males (16-26), 2 males (26-45), 1 male (over 45), 1 female(10-16), 1 female (16-26) and 1 female (over 45) - 10 altogether. Thiscensus also listed him as the owner of three slaves.
1802 - Aaron and Samuel received land from John Job,Sr.
