Samuel Ealy Sr was born on November 12th, 1838 in Wedowee, Randolph, Alabama. Samuel Ealy Sr's father was Jesse JOHNSON and his mother was Lucy Webb BARNETT. His paternal grandparents were John JOHNSON and Ann Nannie ELEY EALY; his maternal grandparents were Leonard Barnett and Nancy STATHAM. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Dr. John, John Leonard, Nathan Barnett, Andrew Jackson, Jesse Thomas, Ava Ann, Amanda Melvina, Frances Washington, Mary Ann Elizabeth, Lucy Ann and Lucy Ann. He was the youngest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 76 on February 25th, 1915 in Stonewall, Gillespie, Tx.General Notes
