Cythia or Cyntha was born before 1795.  Cythia or Cyntha's father was Edward Hughes and her mother was Nancy Foster.  Her paternal grandfather was Thomas Hughes and her paternal grandmother is Mrs. Elizabeth Hughes; her maternal grandparents were Isaac Foster and Sarah Hughes. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Esquire Alexander or Squire, William or Billy, Madison, Nathaniel, Melinda or Malindy and Sarah or Sally. She has a half-brother and a half-sister, named Isaac and Elizabeth.
