Esther was born about 1735 in Fenns, Flintshire, Wales.  Esther's father is William Hanmer and her mother is Elizabeth Jennings.  Her paternal grandparents are William Hanmer and Hester Jennings.  She was an only child.  She died on July 21st, 1764.

‌Esther and Assheton were married in a religious ceremony on February 21st, 1756 in Lower Brook Street, London, Middlex, England.  They had a son named Penn Assheton.
