Jeffrey was born in 1763 in Orange, Ny. Jeffrey's father was Joseph HILDRETH and his mother is Sally UNKNOWN. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named John, Squire, Abigail, Anna, Sarah, Polly, Phebey, Ruth and Ketturah. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.
