James HARRIS

James was born about 1797 in Knoxville, Knox, Tn.  James' father was John HARRIS, JR. and his mother was Abigail GRAGG (CRAGG). He had three brothers and eight sisters, named John, Thomas, John, Elizabeth, Anna, Hannah, Lydia, Nancy, Abigail (Shelton), Deliah and Polly.  He was the oldest of the twelve children.  He died before 1841.
