Mary was born about 1737 in Boxley, Kentshire, Eng. and her baptism took place about 1737 in Boxley, Kent, England. Mary's father was John HALES and her mother was Mary FOSTER. Her paternal grandparents were Jacob HALES and Elizabeth PENNY. She had eight brothers and a sister, named Thomas, John, Richard, Stephen, Lawrence, Henry, Thomas, Henry and Elizabeth.
