Maud (Matilda) was born about 1350 in Rotherfield, Leicestershire, England.  Maud (Matilda)'s father was John 1St Baron De Grey and her mother was Avice Marmion.  Her paternal grandparents were John De Grey and Margaret De Odingsells; her maternal grandparents were John 2Nd Baron Marmion and Maud De Furnival. She had two brothers named John and Robert.  She was the youngest of the three children. She had a half-brother named John 2Nd Baron De.  She was buried in Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire, England.
