Alexander was born in 1285 in Of, Huntley, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.  Alexander's father was Adam Gordon and his mother is Annabella De Strathbogie.  His paternal grandparents were Adam De Gordon and Marjorie McDuff; his maternal grandparents were David I De Strathbogie and Isabella De Chilham. He had five brothers and two sisters, named William, John, Thomas, Adam, William, Mary and Mary.  He was the oldest of the eight children.  He died about October 17th, 1346 in Battle Of Nevill's Cross, Near Durham, Durham, England.
