Thomas was born in 1522 in Upham, Wilts, Eng. Thomas' father was John GODDARD and his mother is Elizabeth BERENGER. His paternal grandparents are Walter GODDARD and Mrs. Walter GODDARD; his maternal grandparents are William BERENGER and Mrs. William BERENGER. He had three brothers and two sisters, named John, Thomas, John, Anne and Jane. He was the third youngest of the six children.
