Thomas was born in 1509 in Of, Lasingcroft, Yorkshire, England. Thomas' father was John GASCOIGNE and his mother is Anne VAVASOUR. His paternal grandparents were William GASCOIGNE and Margaret KIGHLEY; his maternal grandparents are John VAVASOUR and Cicely LANGDALE. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named Richard, John, Robert, William, George, Frances, Elizabeth, Alice, Joan, Katherine, Grace and Anne Or Agnes. He was the oldest of the thirteen children.
