Aren was born in 1914.  Aren's father was Franklin Fisher and her mother is Nancy Shaffer.  Her paternal grandparents were John Fisher and Lucretia Harrison. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Alphis, Alfred "Russ", Aquilla, Alie, Allie and Ardena. She had five half-brothers and a half-sister, named Emberson, Marion, Columbus, Evans, Scott and Emeline.
