Alice was born about 1398 in Of Gawsworth, Cheshire, England. Alice's father was Lawrence FITTON and her mother was Agnes HESKETH. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas FITTON and Margaret LEGH. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named John, Thomas, Edward, Lawrence, William, Richard, Hugh, Elizabeth, Joan, Margaret and Ellen. She was the third oldest of the twelve children.
