Jane was born in 1815 in Derlwn Bach, Neath Higher, Glamorganshire, S. Wales. Jane's father was Edward Darlun EVANS and her mother was Jennet Jones POWELL. Her paternal grandfather was Evan EVANS and her paternal grandmother is Ann DARLUN; her maternal grandparents are Thomas POWELL and Mary MORGAN. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Evan, Thomas, Ann, Maryan, Mary, Elizabeth (Betsey) and Margaret. She is the third youngest of the eight children.General Notes
