John was born on December 16th, 1712 in <, , Md>. John's father was Christopher EDELEN and his mother is Mrs Christopher EDELEN. His paternal grandfather was Richard EDELEN and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth BANTON. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Richard, Benjamin, Christopher, Elizabeth, Anne, Jane, Eleanor and Catherine. He was the third oldest of the nine children.
