Samuel Hoover Dilling 
Samuel Hoover was born on April 19th, 1861. Samuel Hoover's father was John Hoover Dilling and his mother was Susannah Long Hoover. His paternal grandparents were Henry Puderbaugh Dilling and Elizabeth Hoover; his maternal grandparents were Martin Puterbaugh Hoover and Mary Long. He had a brother and four sisters, named John Martin Hoover, Catharine Hoover, Sarah Hoover, Lucinda Hoover and Harriet Hoover. He was the third oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Andrew Brumbaugh, Elizabeth Brumbaugh, Susan Brumbaugh and Mary Brumbaugh.1 -
