His paternal grandparents were John Borodell DENNISON and Phoebe LAY; his maternal grandparents were John Or Jon AVERY and Abigail CHESEBROUGH. He had four brothers and eleven sisters, named William, Christopher, John, Christopher, Mary, Mary, Mary, Phebe, Ann, Lucy, Abegail, Ann, Thankful, Desire and Desire.
