James Campbell 
James was born on March 3rd, 1752 in Dobbs, Lenoir County, North Carolina. James' father was James Campbell and his mother is UNKNOWN Kennedy. He had two brothers and two sisters, named UNKNOWN, UNKNOWN, Isabella and Lovey. He died at the age of 70 in 1822 in Lenoir, Caldwell, North Carolina.General Notes

Johns parents may have come over to Cape Fear area as prisoners of war,following the defeat of Bonnie Prince Charlie of Culloden. "The Englishking ordered the execution, for treason, of the Scot captives after thebattle unless they swore allegiance to the king.
James and Lydia were married in a religious ceremony on January 15th, 1773 in Near Kingston, Lenoir County, North Carolina. They had three sons and six daughters, named Thomas Adams, James H., Seth, Deliverance, Mary (Polly), Freelove Lovey, Susannah, Sarah and Lydia.
