On January 13, 1835, Will Book 3, Page 459, William McKnite was appointed
administrator of the estate of Abraham Copenhaver, late of Shirley
Township, Huntingdon County. Deceased Abraham died in West Township as a
charge of the Township, last legal settlement was in Shirley Township.
Claimed to possess land bounded by John Doyle, Thomas Beatty and others,
near Chestnut Ridge, one and one half miles from Juniata River, two
hundred acres, 30 of which was cleared. A two story hewn log dwelling, a
cabin and barn. This land was in possession of Henry Copenhaver and was
placed on public sale on March 7, 1933 to settle the estate of deceased.
