Henry was born in 1629 in Hawkhurst, Kent, England. Henry's father was Thomas (Isaac I) CHATTERTON and his mother is Rebecca CHITTENDEN. His paternal grandfather is Robert CHITTENDEN and his paternal grandmother was Eleanor (Ellynor) HATCHE. He had a brother named Michael Or Isaac. He was the younger of the two children.
