Sammuel was born on March 3rd, 1788 in Of, , Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Sammuel's father was Jacob B. Brumbaugh and his mother was Mary Elizabeth Baker or Engle. His paternal grandparents were Johannes Henrick Brumbaugh and Anna Julianan Kemper. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Henry, George, Daniel, David, Catherine, Esther, Mary and Susan. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 87 on May 29th, 1875 in Liberty Twp, Bedford, Pa.-
