George Hoover was born on May 12th, 1847 in Fredericksburg, Clover Creek, Blair Co., PA. George Hoover's father was Christian Hoover BRUMBAUGH and his mother was Magdalena Puterbaugh Hoover. His paternal grandparents were George BRUMBAUGH and Esther Hoover; his maternal grandparents were Jonathan HOOVER and Elizabeth PUTERBAUGH. He had a brother and seven sisters, named Samuel, Esther, Elizabeth, Mary Hoover, Sarah, Magdalene, Susannah and Hannah. He is the third oldest of the nine children.-
