John Joseph Augustus was born in 1720 in Manakintown, Goochland, Va. John Joseph Augustus' father was Jean Pierre (John Peter) BONDURANT and his mother was Rhoda Ann FAURE. His paternal grandparents were Jean Pierre Bondurant and Gabrielle De BARJON; his maternal grandfather was Daniel Isaac FAURE and his maternal grandmother is Mary Ann CHASTAIN. He was an only child. He died at the age of 86 on July 30th, 1806 in , Buckingham, Va.-
