Ulrich was born on April 3rd, 1608 in Zollikon, Zurich, Switzerland.1   Ulrich's father is Heinrich Bertschinger and his mother is Anna Hinnen Bertschinger.  His maternal grandfather is Ulrich Bertschinger. He has five brothers and a sister, named Hans Peter, Kaspar, Jakob, Heinrich, Andreas and Elsbeth.
