Margaret was born in 1593 in Newstead, Nottingham, England. Margaret's father was John BYRON and her mother was Margaret FITZWILLIAMS. Her paternal grandfather was John BYRON and her paternal grandmother is Alice STRELLEY; her maternal grandparents were William FITZWILLIAMS and Anne SIDNEY. She had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Nicholas, Margaret, Ann, Mary and Margery. She was the second youngest of the seven children.
