Zachariah was born in 1623 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts. Zachariah's father was Thomas BUCKMINSTER and his mother was Joanna ROBINSON. His paternal grandparents were Thomas BUCKMINSTER and Alice REEDE. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named Lawrence, Joseph, Thomas, Larence, Jabez, Hannah, Elizabeth, Dorcas, Mary, Sarah, Marie and Hannah.
