John Hoover was born on July 20th, 1848 in Huntingdon Co., PA. John Hoover's father was Daniel Bowers BRUMBAUGH and his mother was Mary Puterbaugh HOOVER. His maternal grandparents were Jonathan HOOVER and Elizabeth PUTERBAUGH. He had four brothers and five sisters, named David Hoover, Levi Hoover, Daniel Hoover, Samuel Hoover, Elizabeth, Nancy Ann, Margarette, Mary Ann and Sarah Catharine. He was the fifth youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 61 on April 25th, 1910.General Notes
