Melissa Jane was born on March 25th, 1825 in Thinston, Harrison, West Virginia. Melissa Jane's father was Mark BIGLER and her mother was Susannah OGDEN. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph BIGLER and Hannah BOOHER (BOOKER, BOOCHER); her maternal grandparents were Jonathan OGDEN and Nancy Ann HOWELL. She had two brothers and eight sisters, named Jacob G., Jonathan, Agnes Matilda, Hannah, Nancy, Bathsheba, Marie (Mariah), Nancy, Sarah and Bathsheba "W". She was the second youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 74 on October 26th, 1899 in Salt Lake, Salt Lake, Utah.
