Joseph was born on August 13th, 1719 in BRANFORD, NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT.  Joseph's father was Jonathan BARKER and his mother is Mary WARDELL. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Jonathan, UZAL, James, Anna, Mary, Rebecca, Sarrah and ABIGAIL.  He is the youngest of the nine children.
