Louisa Alexandrine was born on February 25th, 1850 in Lausanne, Vaud, Switzerland.  Louisa Alexandrine's father was Serge Louis BALLIF and her mother was Elise Marie LECOULTRE.  Her paternal grandparents were Jean Francois Frederic BALLIF and Henriette Louise Clermonde Susanne Alexandrine BEGUE; her maternal grandparents were Noe David Benedict LECOULTRE and Jeanne Marianne MOENNAZ. She had three brothers and six sisters, named John Lynn, Serge Frederick, John Lyman, Mary (Marie Jean), Helene, Katrinka Caroline, Rachel Elizabeth, Sergine Cecile and Jennie Charlotte.  She was the oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 71 on February 19th, 1922 in Logan, Cache, Ut.  She was buried on February 21st, 1922 in Logan, Cache, Ut.

‌Louisa Alexandrine and George Taft were married in a religious ceremony on December 20th, 1867 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Ut.  They had five sons and eight daughters, named Ezra Taft, George Taft, Serge Ballif, William Kennedy, Frank Taft, Louisa (Lula), Elise, Adeline, Florence, Marie, Carmen, Jennie and Kathinka.
