John's father was John Aldrich and his mother was Elizabeth Sotherton.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Aldrich or Aldridge and Elizabeth Clark; his maternal grandfather is Nicholas Sotherton. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Henry, Thomas, Timothy, Hester, Elizabeth and Faith.  He died in 1583.
