Hugh was born about 1230 in Abernethy, Strathearn, Scotland.  Hugh's father is Laurence De Abernethy and his mother is Miss Devorguile.  His paternal grandfather is Orm De Abernethy.  He was an only child.  He died after 1291 in Scotland.
