His paternal grandfather was Francis Epperson and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Long; his maternal grandparents are John FAVER and Ann COVINGTON. He had eleven brothers and six sisters, named William, William, Richard, John, Jr., John, George, George, Francis, Edwin Long, Edwin Long, Gabriel, Mary (Polly), Mary (Polly), Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Nancy and Nancy.
