Elfreda was born in 0872 in Wessex, England.1   Elfreda's father was Alfred UNKNOWN and her mother was Ealhswith UNKNOWN.  Her paternal grandparents were Æthelwulf Wessex and Osberga (Osburh) UNKNOWN; her maternal grandparents were Athelred Gainas and Eadburga Fadburn. She had four brothers and a sister, named Edmund, Edward, Athelstan, Athelweard and Athelflaed.  She was the third youngest of the six children.  She was buried in St. Peters Abbey, Ghent, Belgium.1 


Elfreda's first family with Baldwin UNKNOWN

‌Elfreda and Baldwin were married in a religious ceremony about 0888.1   They had three sons named Arnulf, Adalolf Sur Mer and Adelulf.


Elfreda's second family

‌Elfreda were married in a religious ceremony in 0893.  She had a biological son named Arnulf.
