Marie was born about 1206 in Nicea, Bursa, Turkey. Marie's father was Theodoros Laskaris and her mother was Anna Komnene Angelina UNKNOWN. Her paternal grandparents were Manolis Lascaris and Ioanna Karatzania. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Nikolaos, Ioannis, Irini Dukaina and Eudoxia. She was the youngest of the five children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Konstantinos Laskaris and Sophia. She died in 1270.General Notes
