Ralph was born in 1170 in Grimthorpe, Lincolnshire, England. Ralph's father was William Fitzralph and his mother was Emma De Teisa. His paternal grandfather was Ralph Fitzralph. He had a sister named Margery. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 57 on February 9th, 1227.
