Harold was born in 1051 in Sudeley Manor, Gloucester, England.1 Harold's father was Ralph D'ewyas and his mother was Gytha Fitzosgood. His paternal grandparents were Drogo UNKNOWN and Godifu UNKNOWN; his maternal grandfather was Osgood Clopa. He had two brothers named Ralph and Hardwin. He was the youngest of the three children.
