! Edward was a prominent citizen of Salisbury. He became freeman May 1639 and was one of the 12 men who obtained the grant "to begin a plantation at Merrimack" in 1638. He was representative to the General Court from Salisbury in 1642, 1644, 1645, and 1653. He was Commissioner for Salisbury in 1652 and was licensed to sell strong waters in 1654.
