Samuel was a resident of Reading, MA for several years after arriving in this country, and all his children by his first wife were born there. Samuel and his first wife were admitted to the Reading church after 26 Mar 1650, although he was never dismissed from the church at Boston. He was first mentioned on the Woburn tax list in 1664, and he held various offices. He was given a license to maintain an inn and serve spirits in Woburn on Apr 1662, and was the innkeeper in Woburn until 1682.
