Thomas was born in 1429 in of Marsham, York, Eng.1 Thomas' father was John le Scrope and his mother was Elizabeth Chaworth. His paternal grandparents were Stephen le Scrope and Margery De Welles; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Chaworth and Nicola Braybrook. He had a sister named Elizabeth le.
