Leonard 0. Schwalen. 27 May 1973.
Leonard Schwalen, late of 3100 Turner Road S. E. died Sunday in a Salem hospital.
Born in North Dakota, Schwalen came to Salem in 1948 from Wisconsin. He was a foreman at Fair-view hospital & Training Center. He was a member of First Methodist Church.
Surviving are widow Luella; son Gerald with the Navy, Long Beach, Calif.; daughters Mary Ann Mendenhall of Salem, Sarah Jane Shook of Milwaukie, Linda Lee Cary of Salem; brother Clayton, Walnut Creek, Calif; 13 grandchildren.
Services will be 5 p.m. Tuesday at Howell-Edwards Doerksen mortuary, Rev. Ted Hulbert officiat-ing. Burial will be in Belcrest Memorial Park.
