At his marriage to Maud, her father gave him the manor of Hocton,
which
became the family name. Later the name was changed to HOGHTON, And
still
later in America, it was changed to HOUGHTON. Eccleston, in the
eastren
part of Lancashire was also in the daughters dowry.
Hamo and Maud were married in a religious ceremony about 1109 in Lancashire, England.1 They had a son named Wilsus De.
