Richard was born in 1615 in near Watham Abbey, Essex County, England.1 Richard's father was Richard Pearce and his mother was Martha Jacobs. His paternal grandparents were Richard Pierce and Marguerite Coney. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Michael J., John, Samuel, William, Hannah, Martha, Sarah and Mary. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 62 on April 22nd, 1677 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, USA.1 General Notes
