Roger was born before 1297 in Wiltshire, England.1 Roger's father was Richard Le Chaundeler. His paternal grandfather was Richard Le Chaundeler. He had two brothers named Richard and William. He died before 1328.1 General Notes

"It seems clear that Richard was succeeded by roger Chaundler who, during the lifetime of Richard, was a juror in Inquisition taken at Devizes, 12 Edward II (1318), after the death of John Paynel (Chandery Inq.P.M., 12 Edward II, no. 50). At this time Roger is describe as de Ryngebourn.' He was dead befor 1 Edward III (1327-8), when Matilda Chaundeler, evidently his widow, and Simon Chaundeler [his son?] are assessed in as holding the Chanbdler lands in Echelhampton and neighborhood (Lay Subsidy Roll, Wilts, 1 Edward III, Humdred of Swanborough, Echelhampton, no. 196/7, Pub Rec. Office)."
They had a son named Simon.
