Otes was born about 1256 in of Trematon Castle, Saltash, Cornwall.1 Otes' father was Thomas L'Arcedekne and his mother was Alice. His paternal grandfather was Michael L'Arcedekne. He had two brothers and a sister, named Geoffrey, John and Amicia. He was the second oldest of the four children. He died about 1289.1 General Notes
