Elias was born before 1095 in Brimfield, Gloucestershire, England.1   Elias' father was Elias Helias Giffard and his mother was Ala.  His paternal grandparents were Osborne Gifford and Lady Weva De Crepon.  He was an only child.  He died about 1166.1 


Elias' family with Bertha De Clifford

‌Elias and Bertha were married in a religious ceremony about 1127.1   They had a son and a daughter, named Helias and Matilda Maud.
