Son De was born about 1187 in Of, Carrick, Ayrshire, Scotland.¹ Son De's father was Roland Of Galloway and his mother was Elena De Morville. He had two brothers and a sister, named Alan, Thomas and Ada De. He was the second oldest of the four children.
