Mechoir de Forest II:  He was a brother of "Maistre Jehan de Forest, Pretre" and "notaire apostalique (acte due 18 Mai, 1541), Chaplain de St Pierre de Louvain en 1562."  Consideered a wealthy man,
he owned land and a house on the Marche (border) which he gave to his daughter, Marguerite de Forest Levacq; a house a Gueresignies, sold on October 3, 1545 and at Avesnallesj-St Denis, a small
field of land, as well as annuities and other property.  He lived in the Sottiere, a land bording on the Brotherhood of St Jean.  Melchoir was a merchant in Avessnes and a large property holder.  He
was the owner of a house in the main section of Avesnes in the present day location of the St Louis Pharmacy.  He was a juror of Avesnes from 1526 to 1527.  The jurors were magistrates vested with
the power of dispensing lower and middle class justice.
