Siward was very young when he was confirmed Earl of Lathom. He w as only 19 yearsold. He was mainly confirmed Lord of Lathom, because of the ce asless efforts of Lord Henry De Chester, Jr. Siward was confirmed Lord of Lathom on 11 Nov 1092 and married his wife only 11 days later.
It is said never having known his own mother. Siward became very close to his father. He was said never to have gotten over his father's death. He also couldn't get over his wife's and 2 daughters deaths, and committed suicide by hanging himself. Because he committed suicide he wasn't allowed to be buried in the fraveyardat the Chapelry of Lathom. Instead he was buried in unblessed ground outside this cemetery.
Siward FitzDunning and Helga were married in a religious ceremony on November 22nd, 1092.1 They had a son named Henry FitzSiward.
