#15 1945 John was apprentice to James Quake, tallow chandler, in 153 5 in
London, and was made free of the city of London 17 Nov 1543, which ga ve him the
right to become a London Merchant. On 26 Apr 1553 he purchased a man or
"Munchensies" in Halstead, Co. Essex, to which he moved. He was a cl othier,
and was called gentleman.
